Dr. Julie Waldo

A native of Lawrence County, Dr. Julie has always had a heart for animals. She grew up showing Quarter Horses and enjoyed 4-H for many years. In 1985, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University.

Julie and Brian then opened the Animal Care Clinic. For a while, she took a hiatus from daily practices in order to homeschool their two children. When she returned to full time practice, she brought additional training and certification in Medical Veterinary Acupuncture to the practice, as well as Traditional Chinese Veterinary Herbal Therapies. Dr. Julie loves the opportunity to share her passion for acupuncture and herbal treatment options with her patients.

“I feel so blessed by the opportunity to share the additional treatment options available with acupuncture and herbal therapies. These treatments complement Dr. Brian’s training in physical therapy modalities and it’s exciting to bring these options to our patients.” –Dr. Julie

"I have a Shepard/Husky mix – she’s very protective and doesn’t like being approached. Dr. Waldo spent a good amount of time, and treats, letting her get comfortable. The staff members are amazing and seem to enjoy our visit as Sutton will stand up at the window and wait to be greeted. Then, one or two of them will rush out to visit with her. Animal Care Clinic is also very affordable. I get her Sentinel for a fraction of what other vets charge and she’s in the 50-100lb. range, so they’re not cheap. I’ll never go anywhere else!"

"Dr. Waldo and Dr. Mrs. Waldo are the best! I wouldn’t take my boys anywhere else. They are wonderful doctors and wonderful people! And the staff is great."

"Dr. Waldo and Dr. (Mrs.!) Waldo are the BEST! And their staff? Second to none! We have left our seven babies with them on a few different occasions when we were traveling for extended periods. They were very accommodating…friendly, sweet, and kind. Our babies love them! When we came back from our last cruise, our babies were very happy to see us but also very happy in general. We knew they had been well taken care of. Their blankets and pillows were all freshly washed, too. We always feel very relaxed leaving our four legged kids with Animal Care Clinic! They are also our vets and we love them all."

"We have been going to Dr. Waldo for about 3 or 4 months now. We have a dog with an injured leg, and it seemed there wasn't much we could do for her. She started acting as if she was in pain, and walking on only three of her legs. We were told that Dr. Waldo's office has a laser that is used on dogs and horses to speed up healing time. We decided to check it out since our dog has enjoyed going there each week and gets excited when I tell her we are going to see Dr. Waldo. Dr. Waldo and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. It has also been nice having a doctor that takes the time to spend with her to really get to know her and her needs. On weeks where she has been worse, he takes extra time with her to go and do movement routines in his gym. He has taped her in slow motion to be able to see smaller changes in her movement. We are from Bloomington, and it has been worth our drive each week to Bedford. It has also been nice that Dr. Waldo is conscious of our pocketbook. The last time we were in, he told us that after so many laser appointments, we would get a free one. Since our dog has a slower healing problem, this will be really helpful over time. Although we are not back to perfect shape yet, we do now have a dog at home that is no longer in pain, and have hope that she will eventually be able to play and move around close to as easily as she could just 6 months or so ago."

"I have been taking my beloved puppy there since I got her at 8 weeks old. The doctor and staff are always hands-on. They are all very nice and my puppy loves them! I would not take my puppy or any other pet anywhere else."

"I have been taking my beloved dogs to Dr. Waldo for nearly three years, and I won’t go anywhere else! Every single time I have been there, Dr. Waldo has been caring and knowledgeable, treating them as if they were his own. I recommend him to other pet lovers at every opportunity!"

"I’ve been taking my dogs and cats there for about 14 years! They have always done great work. They take care of them and our nerves at the same time."
